1. Joining local activities of our trainers
The GLU Online Academy has a global team of local trainers in 34 countries: Austria, Bangladesh, Argentina, Belgium, Benin, Brazil, Bolivia, Cameroon, China, Chile, Cambodia, Colombia, Ghana, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Vietnam, Germany, India, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Liberia, Philippines, Peru, South Africa, Serbia, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United States, Uganda, Venezuela, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Some of them will be organising study circles and local activities. Let us know if you are interested in joining such an activity and we will put you in touch with our local trainer in your country. Email us at: <online@global-labour-university.org> with the subject "Interested to join a local activity by a trainer".
Also, you will be notified through an announcement if you live in a city where a local workshop takes place. Stay tuned.
2. Organise a local activity yourself
Here are some ideas:
-
You can start by encouraging your contacts to enrol in this free online course: https://glu-online-academy.org/course/view.php?id=52
-
Set up a study circle with colleagues and friends who have joined the course and choose which of the course topics are most relevant for your local context. You can watch video lectures together and discuss topics of interest
- Organise a round table discussion on the relevant topics inviting other trade unionists, labour and activists, pople from media and others.
Let us know in the space the "Exercise" below what local activities do you intend to organise. We will follow carefully this section to identify future potential trainers for the GLU Online Academy.
Remember: there are many ways to organise local activities without any cost just as the labour movement did in its early days.
